Get a piece of paper and make a copy of the words with two, three, or four syllables that you think you will be able to read to your teacher.
Practice reading the words with a reading partner.
Show the list of words you can read to your teacher.
Wait for a smile.
If your teacher doesn't give you a smile within five to ten seconds,
give your teacher a smile and see what happens.
