This unique robin visited with me and posed for pictures in the early part of May 2008. It was a wonderful surprise. The bird was feeding with other robins until it was later scared off by a more dominant robin.
This special robin left and returned three times during the day until it was finally scared off by another robin that swooped down upon it while it was feeding. Although I've been looking, and will continue to do so, I've not yet seen it again.
This partially leucistic robin lacks an enzyme needed for the melanin pigment to display the typical robin coloration.
