JES Literacy Connections
        Mini-Lop Rabbit
Children get an early interest in books, pictures, and learning when others read to them and with them.

Asking questions about pictures and words, turning pages, and guessing what will happen next, all add to the excitement of learning.

***** The quality of free educational programs available on the Internet has been rapidly expanding.  This page includes connections to just a few of the sites that I have previewed and chosen for particular skill building purposes.

I greatly appreciate the contributions that others are making to the Internet and intend to add more free programs and connections to assist others.   Please consider visiting the home pages and viewing other programs from the makers of the programs to which I have chosen to make connections.

I am interested in exploring new opportunities for the use of technology to promote education.
***** A special note of thanks is extended to the Homestead Web Page Creation Program that enabled me to create this web page.  You may contact me to learn more about how to easily create and share web pages.

Students can practice seeing, hearing, writing, and reading sentences to build upon their individual reading levels.

Practice some basic story reading with this link to a story called Goodnight Bird. This takes a few minutes to load, but emerging readers will probably have a good chuckle as they watch and listen to this story.  You can also see and explore
a story about Blues Clues by clicking on links here.
***Watch for more of my "sentence reader" activities that are expected to be added soon.

This is a mini-lop rabbit.  It has floppy ears.
Sound recordings may take a short time to fully load.  If you do not hear
the whole sentence, try again in a few moments.
Please be patient while the sound file loads, then click on the sound file player.

Raising rabbits was one of my hobbies.  There are many different types or breeds of rabbits.  There are clubs for people who raise rabbits.  Many rabbit shows are held in the New England area in the spring.  Some of the rabbits that I raised have earned grand champion certificates and trophies. - John Schlichte
